Located approximately130 km north of Dar es Salaam and west of Zanzibar Island, Saadani is the only coastal wildlife sanctuary in East Africa. Its fantastic position offers not only safari but a combination of relax on the Indian beaches. The park provides the opportunity to observe Africa’s wildlife and birdlife interacting with the sea. Gazetted as National Park in 2002, Saadani covers an area of about 1100 Kmq. The characteristic of the park include variety of mammals and birds. Elephant, leopard, lion, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, colobus monkey, hippo, crocodile and the rare Roosevelt sable can be seen here. Saadani offers a choice of a game drive safari, walking safari, and boat safari on the Wami River.
